MAZE DECONSTRUCTED
 > Maze thumbnail drawings. The maze was created as a vector file and comped together with the sketch in the computer. The concept behind the piece was very simple: instead of a hoop, a young girl would hold a labyrinth. (It's implications, I hope would be a little more provocative). As spare and graphic as I had envisioned the composition, it required some minute adjustments, nudging elements and scaling things until everything felt balanced.
 > Maze sketch, graphite on bond, 8.5 x 11". The comp was light-boxed and a new sketch was drawn in with a mechanical pencil.
 > Maze, Mixed Media on Rives BFK, 29 x 41". The painting will be on view at Jonathan Levine Gallery in January.
 > Maze details.
Haaz is now available as a 14 x 41" print here.
